QSEM: Quantitative Scalability Evaluation Method
نویسندگان
چکیده
While scalability is important to today's software applications, few organizations understand how to quantitatively evaluate their software's scalability. This paper describes the Quantitative Scalability Evaluation Method, QSEM. QSEM uses straightforward measurements to quantify the scalability of a software application. The results provide an understanding of the application's scalability that makes it possible to extrapolate behavior to larger configurations with confidence. The seven steps of the QSEM method are described and illustrated with a case study. Lloyd G. Overlapping Schwarz Methods for Fekete and Gauss-Lobatto Spectral Elements
The classical overlapping Schwarz algorithm is here extended to the triangular/tetrahedral spectral element (TSEM) discretization of elliptic problems. This discretization, based on Fekete nodes, is a generalization to nontensorial elements of the tensorial Gauss–Lobatto–Legendre quadrilateral spectral elements (QSEM). The overlapping Schwarz preconditioners are based on partitioning the domain...
متن کاملCloud computing for fast prediction of chemical activity
Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSAR) is a method to create models that can predict certain properties of compounds. Because of the importance of QSAR in designing new drugs, ability to accelerate this process becomes crucial. One way to achieve that is to be able to quickly explore the QSAR model space in the search for the best models. The cloud computing paradigm very well fit...
متن کاملA Method for the Quantitative Assessment of the Impact and Sustainability of the KCTCS ERP Initiative
This study demonstrates a measure the impact and sustainability of system wide ERP implementations, and details an example of its use. The method is widely applicable and builds on the 4-s (size, scope, scalability, and sustainability) and PIPE (participation, implementation, penetration, and effectiveness) theoretical systems design and evaluation framework of Pronk (2003). Impact is presented...
متن کاملMINING FUZZY TEMPORAL ITEMSETS WITHIN VARIOUS TIME INTERVALS IN QUANTITATIVE DATASETS
This research aims at proposing a new method for discovering frequent temporal itemsets in continuous subsets of a dataset with quantitative transactions. It is important to note that although these temporal itemsets may have relatively high textit{support} or occurrence within particular time intervals, they do not necessarily get similar textit{support} across the whole dataset, which makes i...
متن کاملThe quantitative side of the Repertory Grid Technique: some concerns
User experience (UX) evaluation is gaining increased interest lately, both from academia and industry. In this paper we argue that UX evaluation needs to fulfill two important requirements: scalability, i.e. the ability to provide useful feedback in different stages of the design, and diversity, i.e. the ability to reflect the diversity of opinions that may exist in different users. We promote ...
